Privacy Policy

Sound Bones Music (“I”, “me”, “my”) is run by Georgia Corrie, offering Bone Health Yoga, Voicework, Piano Lessons and Music Therapy in Lewes (East Sussex) and Swansea/Gower. This policy explains what personal information I collect through soundbonesmusic.co.uk, why I collect it, and how I look after it, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is used, contact me at hello@georgiacorrie.example or 07790 591 578.

1. Who is responsible for your information

Georgia Corrie is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. I am a sole trader/practitioner, not a large organisation, and I handle your information personally and with care.

2. What information I collect

a) Information you give me directly

  • Contact form (In Touch page): your name, email address, phone number (optional), the strand you’re interested in (Bone Health Yoga, Voicework, Piano Lessons, Music Therapy, or general enquiry), and your message.
  • Phone, text, email or Facebook messages: anything you share when you contact me directly, including your contact details and the content of our conversation.
  • Health Questionnaire (Bone Health Yoga): if you download and return the health questionnaire before joining a yoga class, you’ll be sharing health-related information (for example, existing conditions, injuries, osteoporosis diagnosis, or mobility considerations). This is “special category data” under UK GDPR and I only collect it with your explicit, informed consent, and only to make sure classes are safe and appropriately adapted for you.
  • Session/client information: if you go on to book sessions, I may keep notes relevant to your yoga, voicework, piano, or music therapy sessions (e.g. goals, progress, adaptations needed). For Music Therapy specifically, clinical notes are kept in line with HCPC professional standards and confidentiality requirements.

b) Information collected automatically

  • Basic technical information when you visit the site (such as browser type, device type, and pages visited), typically gathered via standard website hosting and analytics tools.
  • Cookies — small files used to make the site work properly and, where used, to understand how visitors use the site. See Section 7 for more detail.

I do not collect payment card details through this website; any fees are arranged and paid directly (e.g. by bank transfer, cash, or card reader in person).

3. Why I collect it and my legal basis

You can withdraw consent at any time (for example, for the health questionnaire or session notes) by contacting me — this won’t affect anything already done based on consent given beforehand.

4. Who I share it with

I do not sell your information. I may share limited information with:

  • Trusted service providers who help run the website and business (for example, my website host and email provider), who only process data on my instructions.
  • Regulatory or professional bodies (such as HCPC) where required for professional practice, supervision, or safeguarding.
  • Authorities, if I’m legally required to share information (for example, a safeguarding concern, or a legal obligation).

I do not share health questionnaire information or clinical notes with anyone else without your consent, unless there’s a safeguarding or legal reason to do so.

5. How long I keep it

  • Enquiries that don’t turn into bookings: kept for a reasonable period (e.g. up to 12 months) then deleted.
  • Client contact details and session notes: kept for as long as you’re an active client, and for a period afterwards in line with professional/insurance guidance (for Music Therapy, HCPC guidance generally recommends retaining clinical records for a minimum period after therapy ends).
  • Health questionnaires: kept only as long as needed for your safe participation in classes, then securely deleted.

If you’d like your information deleted sooner, get in touch and I’ll do so unless I have a legal or professional obligation to keep it.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information I hold about you and get a copy of it
  • Ask me to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask me to delete your information (subject to legal/professional retention duties)
  • Object to, or ask me to restrict, certain processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you’re unhappy with how your information has been handled

To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@georgiacorrie.example.

7. Cookies

This site may use essential cookies needed for it to function, and may use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site so I can improve it. [Confirm here whether you use Google Analytics or another analytics/cookie tool, and add a cookie consent banner if you use non-essential cookies.] You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.

8. Where your data is stored

Your information is stored securely using reputable UK/EU-based hosting and email providers where possible. [Confirm your hosting provider and whether any data is transferred outside the UK/EEA, so this section can be made accurate.]

9. Children’s information

Piano lessons and music therapy are offered to people aged five to eighty-five. Where a client is under 18, enquiries and consent (including for the health questionnaire, where relevant) are handled through a parent or guardian, and information about a child is used only to provide safe, appropriate teaching or therapy.

10. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time, for example as the website or services change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Please check back occasionally.
